Quoting: Isles777
Beauvillier is just as important to the isles as barzal and the isles have players with value that they can trade to create space, so they won't have trouble signing beau. They will match.
I agree that's the most likely outcome, but to do that NYI have to clear cap space first. It probably doesn't work, but Bergevin has nothing to lose (besides pissing off Lamoriello).

Allen? You don't think they'll pick Lehkonen?
In this scenario my protected forwards would be Gally, KK, Anderson, Toffoli, Lehkonen, Evans and Beauvillier (sign Danault after the draft). So Allen, Chiarot or Fleury would be the most likely to go (assuming Berge won't leave his captain unprotected).

I wouldnt be opposed to another offer sheet, but I think NYI will match right away. Maybe OS someone on Tampa?
Foote would definitely be interesting since the Habs cupboards are pretty dry on RD (neither Fleury nor Brook look to be top-4 caliber, at least not yet). Though, to me, the Canadien's immediate needs are a LW that can score and LD that can move the puck. Foote might have the potential to replace Weber in a couple years tho, so definitely wouldn't be upset if the Habs went that route.
