Well after a disappointing performance against Winnipeg, it’s obvious the Oilers need to add forward depth, as they have two none existent forward lines. I mean they have a lot of good things coming like Tyler Benson, and they found their third-line centre in Ryan McLeod. But In my opinion, the oilers need to address these needs in the following order:
1. Find a starting goaltender.
2. Get a decent winger with McDavid
3. Get some forward depth.
4. Resign your defense.
I’d like everyone to notice how I did not use, associate, or trade with Seattle. They are going to absolutely screw your team if you try and do a deal with them. Look at how Vegas did it to other teams like Florida, Pittsburgh, and Anaheim I mean they literally paid Vegas to take a Stanley Cup contending team. Why would the oilers pay mass prospects and their entire future in pics to dump a crappy contract that they can just buy out or wait out, heck you can even bury contracts like Turris and Koskinen in the minors and save 2 million. The straight answer is let them take Jones or Lagesson and take the hit, it's better than damaging your entire team. You might even give up skinner if you see what I did next, and yes this trade is on the table because of Seattle.
A lot of these trades you might think are not possible, but for teams who are most likely losing players to Seattle for nothing, you might as well get something for them like a 6th or 7th, I mean you’d be dumb not to!!
Washington is losing either Samsonov or Vanecek, so they might as well trade him to get some value. Oilers would be one of the top bidders to undercut Seattle in the goalie department, and Vanecek would be the likely goalie to be left exposed. The oilers get a young goalie that has starting potential and now you have a solid tandem in Vanecek as your starter, and Smith as your backup. Goalie problem solved.
Oilers need some forward offence on the LW, so I know the Neal contract might hurt, but it's 4 mill you get back to make a serious offer to Jaden Schwartz. 5.75 I believe gets the deal done but would like your guy's opinion on this signing.
Nuge, All the Oilers fans are always so sentimental about players that have been with the team for a long time, frankly, I’m not one of those fans. Nuge is a great player, don’t get me wrong, but he can’t play Center, that's a huge minus and for 6-7 mill you expect him to be close to a point per game player, and he is getting about 0.67 points per game on average from his last 3 seasons, I'm giving him a 5.675 Mill Contract for 5 years, same as Schwartz and I think that's fair. People need to take the emotion out of this signing, he is a player, and players can be replaced.
OFFER SHEET WITH LAINE: Now before you freak out, yes I signed laine to an offer sheet. Colombus owns his rights but in order to trade for him, Colombus would want a first, and two seconds. In my opinion, you get a better deal with the offer sheet, and yes it's a hefty price, but look at the lines now, Your left-wing is absolutely stacked and your right-wing can easily be improved with what you have.
Well that's the play I make if I'm holland this summer and we are right to the cap, some noticeable accomplishments for holland if he did this would be improved our forward depth, he has a defence that is still indefinitely strong, and he now has a tandom that he can have his team rely on. In my opinion this is a home run, but let me see your comments below as constructive criticism is always welcome
Le salaire annuel moyen (AAV) de l'offre hostile est calculé en divisant la valeur totale du contrat par: 1. La durée totale du contrat, ou 2. Cinq ans
I hope this is a joke. Your not getting V.V. Unless you send over a 2nd
You're definitely over-valuing Vanacek at a 2nd with the amount of back-up quality goalies on the market. That, said 5th is undervalued. I'd think his value is closer 3rd plus B-Level Prospect.
