DeMelo does not have any offense which is OK if you are a defensive stud but DeMelo is not this either. Top 4 he is not. If DeMelo made $1.5 mil a year then he would be great for the 3rd line.

Larsson is more of a complete defenseman than DeMelo. Hamonic is signed as 3rd pairing and would be a million cheaper not to mention a better defenseman. If DeMelo was the Top 4 you are claiming for then why did most of the Jets fan base wanted a 1rhd at trade deadline and were disappointed when Chevy didn't get one? Not to mention that Chevy himself admitting to looking for a 1rhd?

There’s so much wrong here. Let’s dive in!

1. People were clamouring for a #1 RHD because Paul Maurice was on drugs and was playing Tucker Poolman on the top pair which is insane.

2. The two names that the Jets went after and didn’t land were Oleksiak and Gavrikov, both of which are LHD. Which makes sense! Short term they are actively playing Forbort and Stanley on the left side which isn’t good enough.

3. You talk about wanting a #1 RHD then sign a 2nd pairing guy in Larson. And bottom pairing guy in Hamonic

4. Have you watched Travis Hamonic play hockey in the last 3 years? He isn’t good and hasn’t been for sometime. I bet you’re a casual and recognize the name, but in no world is he better than Dylan demelo

5. Josh morrissey went from an absolute train wreck, to looking like he’s back the day Dylan Demelo was paired with him. I’m not sure math is your strong suit, but you can probably put 2 + 2 together here.

6. The Jets have two good #2-3’s on the Right side. It’s never been the issue. The left side and Paul Maurice’s usage of his defenders has been.

7. Dylan Demelo at $3M for the next 3 years is the most valuable defenceman in terms of value the team has. Absolutely insane moving him for nothing.

1. DeMelo is your best defensemen and has seem to find his game with Morrissey
2. Copp won’t be left unprotected
3. Your overrating Adam Larsson there’s no way he get top pairing minutes
4. Their more in need of a left handed defensemen then right
5. Hamonic would be pretty useless in Winnipeg
6. Adam Larsson at best is a fringe second pairing defensemen
7. If you ask all 32 gms in the nhl who they’d rather have I’d say at least 25 or more say DeMelo

9. The only thing missing from the Larsson and Hamonic contracts are buyout dates
