Everything is in the ballpack of reasonable valuation. Won't stop me from nitpicking though.

Risto deal: leave or take the 4th based on the market. Makes no difference.

Eichel deal: Turcotte and Kaliyev is a good return if Byfield is off the table. Add another piece to take Quick.

Love the Reinhart & Olofsson deals.

Free agents will need to be overpaid a lot more on shorter term to be convinced to come to Buffalo. Should be looking for 2-3 guys on big 1-2 years contracts ($5-6 mil) that you can retain on and flip them at the deadline.

    Still...good work.

Here is a better idea with the Vancouver trade. We keep our young prospects , buy out Virtanen, send Eriksson to the minors and sign a free agent . Reinhart will be a free agent next year we can wait. This way we get to select another top 10 draft pick.

Reinhart won't make it to FA. We'd just trade him to another team where he'd sign an extension.

Yea should be really hard to find a trade partner for a 60-70 point top 6 forward.

We have a good top 6 . We need D and and a better bottom 6 . You Buffalo fans need to get this notion out of your head that Vancouver is giving up a top 10 pick.

You might not want to, but what Benning wants is a different story.

Put it this way if Benning trades this years first after trading last years first he will be the GM for 12 more days and 37 minutes. Name the last GM to trade away his to 10 pick?

This is Benning's last try to get a competitive team. He's already said he's gonna be aggressive. Last GM to trade away a top ten pick was in 2017 for Stepan. This is a weak draft in an unprecedented year. Someone trading a top 10 pick is definitely in the realm of possiblity. The last weak draft also happened to be 2017.

This is not Bennings last attempt haha. He said he is going to be very aggressive but then asked is he going after a high priced player and immediately said no. I really doubt if Vancouver and Buffalo have even lower value trades let alone a big one. They are looking for D and they want to fix the bottom six and most of the plans are already in motion.

If Vancouver is awful again it's definitely his last attempt.

“We want to add guys that can support, supplement our top 9 forwards, we want to try to have three scoring lines,” said Benning. “So, we're looking at a different type of player here. We're looking at players that drive offence that we can play with our other offensive players, because we need to score more, we need to spend more time in the other team's end.

Yea sounds nothing like trying to get someone like Reinhart rolling eyes

Kings should not trade Byfield or Kaliyev. They definitely decline this particular trade. Especially with the uncertainty of the whole neck issue.

They are looking for a Joel Armia type support . Anyways we will find out in a few weeks but I am positive we will pick up even more support when we select 9 th at the draft.

I think Benning would jump on that deal, he has no problem trading 1sts for a good player (see JT Miller) and I think he is willing to mortgage the future for hopes of a good year to save his job, not the wise thing to do but I see him doing that.

Maybe you trade pick, maybe you don't. I just said it's possible, especially with it being a weak draft. You're just kind of acting like it's impossible Benning would do something like that.

Oh boy. If I was you I'd much rather go after Sam than an Armia type player to overpay. You don't need another depth Roussel / Beagle / Ferland type signing.
