Some of these trades are really overvaluing your payers and others are really unnecessary for a rebuild. You don't pay two seconds for a vet in a rebuild until the new team has started to take shape, especially a guy you could take in free agency. I personally am not sure if Duchene will land you that much, and even if the picks and players are right, Montreal won't retain salary. Varlamov has little trade value so taking a high ranking prospect AND a first from Dallas just won't work. I don't really think you'd get anything for Varlamov aside from a bad contract if you're doing a swap. If you're gonna restructure, then stick to it and grab new guys ready to make an impact for their new team ASAP or if you're gonna rebuild then make the team crap and pick up a tonne of prospects/picks that will make the team scary good in four/five years.
