Im confused by the Simmonds and Foligno salaries. Foligno is rumoured to not want to leave CBJ at all, even if they are sellers at TDL and Simmonds is earning that 1.5M, when he is healthy. I'd resign him for the same if I could.

I also don't understand the desire to trade Dermott. He is the perfect 6th Dman. He took less money just to remain with the club, loves playing in Toronto. He isn't expensive, maybe a little bit more on par with Bogosian next season but still a fair price to pay.

I'll take Bennet, but not at 2M. I like his playoff performances but that space is needed elsewhere for Toronto imo.

Wood plays up and down the lineup, forward group won't be 100% healthy all season.

You might be right about Simmonds, but I think you try to get him to take a discount to stay, worth it for him to stay in TO and try to go on a playoff run.

Foligno I don't think can ask for too much more with the flat cap at his age/production. If he doesn't want to leave CBJ than it is what it is, there's other guys out there that you could look at as well... 3.5m would be the max to spend there

Sub him out with any decent backup. I think if they go with Campbell they can find someone cheap that can play some games.

Bennett was a much more effective 3rd line C than Kerfoot/Engvall for one 10 game stretch in the past 4 years.

Aside from that he's pretty meh, and overpaid.

Wood is a fine bottom 6 player, but he doesn't fit on a Leafs 3rd line if they are still a checking line, and before this season (and his unsustainable s% bender) he would be pretty low on the list of top 6 six options.

He makes way too much to be a "just in case" guy playing 4th line minutes.

I'd much rather try out guys like Vesey and Galchenyuk then actually spend or use assets/capspace to get Wood.
