Devils get a decent defensive prospect, a first, second, and third, and take on Komarov’s bad contract. Komarov, however, is a good fourth liner and decent third liner, good in the locker room, a PK specialist who can help NJ’s atrocious PK, good defensively, and can help the development of some of the young kids on NJ. Kulikov’s contract is ending and he is too old to make a difference when this team is good, he’s not too valuable. Wood is having a career year and is playing great. A 2nd and Bode Wilde seems sufficient to allow him to go to Long Island.

Palmieri adds some scoring that Lee had brought the Islanders and also contributes good defensively. Would fit into the Trotz system very nicely. Kulikov is very important for the islanders , as they have only 3 NHL level defensive defenseman right now, leaving no depth in that role in case of an injury, or to allow someone like Andy Greene to rest. Finally, Miles Wood ads good defensively and is having a great year. I love his grit and physicality, would fit in well in Trotz system and would slot next to Pageau and Wahlstrom well.
