Absolutely not. Flyers are giving up way too much to WPG and it kind of screws them over for the expansion draft if you send Read away for next to nothing because we would be exposing too many young guys.

I over-paid for Myers probably slightly but that was to keep all the Jets fans from crying about the trade. As for who gets exposed, we would probably lose Laughton or Manning both of whom are replaceable. As for Read, we should take what we can get for him since there are few teams that would be willing to take on 3 mil per and I personally highly doubt Vegas would want that contract.
Protection would go as follows:
G, Couts, Schenn, Jake, Duclair, Simmer, Raffl
Myers, Ghost, Gudas
Mason

Why would you want to give up Read so bad. His 3 mil per year isn't really an awful contract and it comes off the books before a lot of the other bad contracts we have like Weise/AMac

Read is a 3rd liner at best and not a shutdown 3rd liner like we would need to put with Couts in my scenario and therefor is overpaid.
