This post is expanding on my last one where I did just the deadline. I figure Holland is working on a master plan to get us set up as top contenders by 2022-23. This is how I think we should go about it
It's too early to guess some of these contracts but I gave it my best estimate
We could REALLY use an upgrade at 3C, someone who can keep a positive +/- and score around 40 points in a full season. Options are Granlund, Danault, Lowry, Wennberg, and a couple veterans
We also NEED a number 1 goalie. Options are Grubauer, Mrazek, Driedger, Binnington, Ulmark, Andersen, and also a few veterans
Broberg, Samorukov and Lavoie will likely get a game or 2 next season due to injuries. There's a very SMALL chance one of them becomes a regular in the lineup but it would make things interesting
Oilers fans, let me know what you think. If everything here went as planned (give or take a few mill on contracts, and a few assets in trades) I think we would easily be 2nd in our normal Pacific Division next year and in a position to get to the WCF
I hate to give away anymore draft picks but we really don't want Neal weighing us down cap wise for another season
Seattle will love Jones's advanced stats. Benson is a bit of a wildcard but I think they could use someone like that on the farm. Throw in a third as an extra sweetner. I'd hate to see that become a 2nd rounder but that might be what it takes
I know Neal is useless defensively and falling off a bit offensively but they will value his expereice with the Vegas expansion a tiny bit for sure
