Now before ppl go ape **** here is my reasoning.

Gaudette hasn’t shown to be responsible as a 3C & til he improves it’s a problem going forward. I really like the guy but to contend or at least be a perennial PO team he holds the team back. One fix is giving him the wingers that can offset his shortcomings. Most difficult to achieve given the current roster. The prospects coming up cannot be expected to carry that load.

So I suggest Miller play as C at times & double shifting.
More balance in game while Gaudette improves by being insulated. He needs to make a huge step. Miller will be 1st line mostly bumping Hoglander down to the 3rd line.

Sutter/Beagle platoon to stay fresh as 4C & also for PK
OJ/Rathbone also platoon
Benn short stick & in if D injured or exposed badly.
Looking to be more mobile & exit the zone better. The 3rd pairing D will be insulated by the top 4 playing a ton of minutes. If they do well then more TOI to take the load off.

The taxi squad has to be used to gain cap space to pay bonuses so as not to be deferred to next year.

All of the above has a lot of risk but running with the kids if they make the team is my hope. See what they have & gain valuable experience in a condensed sprint of a season.

On Hawryluk not sure how to use him yet but he could be in & out for Hoglander be my choice. Fit in as 3C or 3rd line wing depending on Greens faith in Gaudette.

In the end if no UFA D is signed or found I don’t see many options but to test the kids no matter how the line up is set. Idk who wants to see LE play unless necessary. Time for kids to shine & push him out.
