Quoting: Specmence
Moving Nash is only because we can only have 23 players on the roster. It was between him, Stenlund, and Robinson. And Jarmo has been shipping guys out for nothing recently to make space.
Dubois recently liked a post that mentioned him taking a bridge deal. Plus that's what Portzline reported today on the Front and Nationwide Podcast.
Yeah, but moving Nash for nothing? I know we've got a bit of a log jam with all these young guys at the bottom of the roster, but we should be getting something back for Nash, no?
And yeah, I'm well aware of the Dubois tweet like and that he was likely gonna look for a bridge deal anyway, but what I'm saying is with this extra cash, go ahead and up the offer to he point that he IS happy with taking a long term deal and end up saving yourself money down the line rather than "wasting" the extra cap here.
Like, this is just a bit of a shot with the numbers, but wouldn't you prefer getting him for 8.5 for 8 years than 6 for 3 years and then paying up down the line once we start to hit a crunch with all the other core guys? Obviously looking for a bridge is the smart move by Dubois's camp, but I'm saying with nearly 5 mil in unused cap on this team, up that AAV to the point that he's comfortable doing the long term deal instead of the bridge (as long as it's not a ridiculous number).
