I have zero problem with that signing. You say he's scared to trade his boys club, but you do realize it takes 2 to trade right? Should he rush into some stupid lopsided trade to please people or should he not screw himself further? Severson is not as good as people think in the defensive zone either.

So you want to give away TL before he gets a real chance to prove himself, Dermott who also has not had an extended chance to prove himself with more minutes and good partners, Willie...who's contract will be a bargain for someone that talented when he figures it out and Scott (who I think is our best goalie prospect IF his hip thing is solved) for pretty well an inconsistent dman, Wood who has not proven anything and leave us with a platoon of 2 young and inexperienced goalies?

I'd like to see what they do first. The thing is you say their hands are tied so you want to trade away a future star on a good contract, an RFA dman with a ton of potential (also cost controlled) and 2 good prospects. Seems a little counterintuitive to me.

Then there would be the result of this trade of running with you inexperienced goalies.
