How is Pirri not in the starting line up?

Because their is no spot. I guess you could slot him at 4C but he would be a defensive liability. And he definitely isn't taking anyone in that top nine out of the lineup...

Lindberg was cleared for contact and Nieves was already sent down. If Lindberg is placed on LTIR, then he automatically has to sit the 1st ten games of the season whether he is ready to play or not; that's not going to happen.

I agree with nashless; if a defenseman is being sent down, it'll be Skjei.

Logistic wise yes it makes more sense to send Skjei down, but both have been equally as horrible. The difference is one is a big part of our future and the other is depth.

On Lindberg, I know he has been cleared for contact but he is still 2-4 weeks away from playing. Therefore he should start on LTIR to save a roster spot. In my opinion that roster spot, until Oscar comes back, should belong to Nieves and AV has already expressed interest in bringing him back up...
