Description

The Canes could use Killorn in their middle six and it seems like Tampa will have to trade him considering Gourde, Johnson, and Palat all have NMC's and reports are saying they will not waive them. The Senators have tons of cap space and need help everywhere in the lineup and Gardiner is a solid LD who can slot behind Chabot until Brannstrom is ready. The Devils could use some speed and scoring so taking a flyer on Dzingel for cheap is a win for each team as he didn't fit in Carolina and they now have Killorn. Lastly, the Canes pull the trigger on a trade for Kuemper. They give them a 2021 1st and a solid 1b goalie in Reimer who got his bonus already so he will only be making 850k this year.

No. Ottawa does not need 3 years of Jake Gardiner struggling through 14 minutes a night.
They have Chabot, Wolanin, Reilly under contract for next season and Brannstom and Lajoie in waiting.
IF they wanted another LHD it would be to replace Boroweicki's role and they'd grab a UFA like Bitetto who'd sign for less on a 1 or 2 year deal.
