There not much difference between a late 3rd and early 4th (6 spots) and Bellows haven’t show much in AHL. Gáborík help gets Ottawa to the cap floor without actually having to pay most of his salary. I can’t see any interest for Ottawa here.

Well, I can see some interest. Sens are still paying about $615k of Gaboriks salary. Boychuck would only be $1.25M in real money this season for a $6M cap hit.

Bellows did have 2 goals (3pts) in 8 games with the Isles and 22 goals in 52 games in the AHL, thats not insignificant.

I dont like the pick swap either, but I do think this offer has enough to it to warrant a counter.
