i had to do the math to see how short exactly we are if we pay TDA & Strome.
If each get around $6x5 and then Lemmy gets $1.3x2 that leaves around $1m left with Georgiev unsigned and just 10 forwards. (thats what this roster shows)

So at least one has to go.

I'd prefer to trade TDA, can't have your 3rd pair Defensemen making $6m for 5 years...

Signing Strome is a red flag of dysfunction.

Would you rather pay your 3rd pair defensemen $6m? or sign a 2c/3c to $6m?

Keep in mind, in a flat cap, there are not many teams that can afford these contracts so it will be tough to sell both

What makes more sense at 2C then? Just waiting for prospects to develop/UFA talent to become available (in the coming years)? In the hopes that MAYBE they can have the same success as Strome and Panarin did together? All while Panarin and Zibanejad get older...

TDA will be behind Trouba and Fox in RHD defensemen depth chart. Unless you want him to play LHD, which is no guarantee he will be worth $6m there, IMO he should be first on the trade block.

To me, signing Strome makes more sense than TDA. But if we could move both I would certainly be happy with that.
