Description

This 2020-21 Canucks roster is salary cap compliant and includes all of the club's UFAs and RFAs on fair contracts. However, to be salary cap compliant the team will need to bury Jordie Benn in the minors and trade Loui Erisksson. Eriksson has a Modified-NTC that allows him to reject trades to 15 specified teams during the 2020-21 season. Therefore, any proposed trades may not be eligible for this reason. This roster proposes a trade with the Detroit Red Wings, but other potential partners could be the Ottawa Senators and Minnesota Wild. Thatcher Demko should be traded because he will be exposed during the Seattle Kraken expansion draft. A bonus overage of 1.7 Million has been added to the team under the IR section due to player bonuses from the 2019-20 season causing the Canucks to exceed the cap.

Wings say keep Eriksson, because as time goes bye the trades with Wings are getting less and less and pretty soon you will want Mantha or Larkin.

Keep Ericksson and we can build the draft, and you will have cap issues in te next year with Quinn and Petersson in 2021.
