That's a bad deal for the Caps. I would love to get Fabbri, but Shattenkirk is not a hot commodity for them. They already have Carlson and Niskanen as RHD's and he's a pending UFA and will command a big raise next year, Caps won't be able to afford without getting significantly weaker somewhere else.

The caps would definitely have to get rid of orpiks contract to take shattenkirk and we wouldn't be able to resign Oshie.

Not to mention Shattenkirk seems eager to sign with his hometown team in free agency next year if they don't already get him via some kind of trade. I think caps would pass on that deal.
