Even if he does extend, it's horrible. Rangers aren't KShat away from winning a cup. Sign him as a UFA and make a trade for say Trouba now.

I like this trade for two reasons. We get rid of Staal and we get a extended Shatty (otherwise this deal would never happen). And we really don't have much to offer to get Trouba imo. Not that I wouldn't want him but...

I like this trade for two reasons. We get rid of Staal and we get a extended Shatty (otherwise this deal would never happen). And we really don't have much to offer to get Trouba imo. Not that I wouldn't want him but...

Zuccarello easily. He's a middle 6 winger 3 years left 4.5m... that'd be the easiest trade ever to make. Yes staal getting traded is a big deal, but eating 2m for 5 years is a lot. Also, having shatty at 6.2, dg at 5.5, mcd 4.7 and Hank at 8.5 is roughly 25m between 4 players on the defensive side of the puck... leaving 50m for 18 spots... we need a few snipers on the roster. Won't win a cup without a scary top 6.

CK hasn't lived up to his potential. I'd give him 1 more year before trading him. He's had back to back 21 goal seasons. He also just finished school so no more distractions. Hopefully it means he'll put up close to 30 this year and 10-13 in playoffs helping us go deep.

Well ideally, I would buyout Girardi asap... That frees up alot of space...
