Ya and he's an RFA with a Cup ring already. I have no reason to believe he will settle for less money than Scandella is making (3.275 mil). He is St. Louis' 3rd best D and will be paid accordingly. I think Dunn will either get 3 years at 3.5-4 mil or 6-8 years at 5 mil

He is not St Louis third best 3 man! Where you get that. Scandela was use even more then him last year. You might like him more but in reality he is the 5th defenseman in depth chart and the fourth if Pietrangelo doesnt resign. 16 min of ice time is not a lot and Defenseman that played not that much don’t get much payed either. Pietrangelo, Parayko, Faulk, and even Scandela seem ahead of him in the depth chart so calm down the 3 best. A defenseman who have only seen 31 min of Pk in 224 game, that haven’t touch the powerplay this year and who is mostly use in offensive start since he doesnt defend extremely well is not that high in the depth chart for a reason

Vince Dunn had the highest Corsi % out of all St. Louis Blues players who played more than 60 games in the season. His Corsi was 55.5%. Pietro was 52.9%, Parayko was 40%, Faulk was 50.3%, Scandella was 49.3%. Not only that but he also had the highest Fenwick % (just a different calculation of Corsi). Indeed he did have the highest offensive zone starts out of all STL D men. He had the highest expected +/- also. What all this means is that when Vince Dunn is on the ice, the Blues play very well. He impacts the game more for his team offensively than any other D men on St Louis, that's what the stats show. And yes he is only getting 16 mins of TOI per game, but imagine if he got more (which he will), how much better would he look to the league? My guess is significantly. He is a very good top 4 D man. Regardless of what you are saying, you still vastly underpaid for a player that you threw on the top pair in Montreal. Would cost Armia/Lehkonen, 2020 2nd, and another piece for the value to be fair. Also you would have to pay him at least 1.5 mil more

Getting more minutes means facing toughest opponent. Regardless of what you are saying he doesn’t hold that much value in a cap dump trade. And he is a very good top 4 dman who haven’t played in that role once in is career yet? You can proclaim yourself the President of United state just because you like so. Dunn have been a bottom pairing defenseman for is entired career, that might change but that what he have been. End of discussion
