2020 Summer Devils make some moves to make the team better moving forward but most likely not in 20/21
Palmieri is a trade that the devils and fanbase dont want to do, but they cant avoid the package boston sends back. Kase has team control still and bjork has a ton of talent but and will get more of a shot on the devils. The seconds also make the deal even sweeter.
As mentioned below, Fitz mentioned wanting size on the backline. Adding Risto would do that however his analytics dont look great. With Risto the devils are taking a swing similar to the Subban trade, hopefully this one works out.
Blackhawks need to move some cap out, Devils swoop in for some help on the left side and make the move for Olli Maatta. Fitz has familiarity with Maatta from their time in Pittsburgh together.
Devils take a swing for Jesse P and in hope that he will head over to North America. Jesse has played with Kuokkanen previously in int'l play and a heavy european roster and being closer to home (though not close really at all) might help. Ken Holland recoups some picks to make up for the ones he moved out at the deadline. Oilers also receive Merkley who wont be in the top 6 for Edmonton but adds some skill to the bottom 6. He has a low ceiling high floor. injuries have derailed his career until now, but has been healthy since moving to the devils. he started off slow but came on strong at the end.
Devils end up keeping their 3 first rounders this year. Picks 6, 10, and 17. Devils draft: Lucas Raymond, Jake Sanderson, and Rodion Amirov respectively. Raymond comes over and plays in the AHL. Sanderson stays 1 year in college. Amirov stays in russia most likely for 2 years on the KHL squad before coming over.
Fitzgerald doesnt listen to his analytics team on this one. Has mentioned he wants D men with more size that can skate.
for Buffalo fans - this is close to what someone mentioned would be his value. 2nd rounder and a depth player. W
I agree the bruins are one of if not the best teams. However they aren’t impervious to making bad moves.
Backes contract and Moore contracts recently were terrible
Nash trade was really bad even though it dealt with injuries but that was known.
Obviously they make more good/great moves but those are some regretful ones
Sure! Everyone makes mistakes!
But thats why they wont make this bad move. Again I proposed a better deal (that is still Excellent for the devils), but no the bruins do not take this
