Throw in Tarasenko, two more 1st round picks, and a pizza...the Capitals still politely decline. Ovi is an all-world player and future hall of famer...I doubt he ever takes off a Washington uniform. Thanks though, and keep on smoking whatever you're smoking.

Caps would be insanely stupid to say no to that. Sadly, if the Caps don't win the Cup this season Ovi will more than likely want out. In that case, if they can move Ovi for Tarasenko they better take that deal.

a) I just don't see him leaving DC and "if" he does it will be back to Russia to finish his playing career.
b) he has said numerous times he intends to try to accomplish what the Caps drafted him for.
c) Not that anything remotely like the trade you dreamed up would ever happen (ever), but at least have him going to a market that could afford his salary and/or have a top line role.

I mean, I love throwing out impossible ideas as much as the next guy...but why stop here...how about Crosby for Ovi?
