Dont think galchenyuk Is worth 2rd pick, more like 3-4, So the pens would have to throw some sweetener

Zucker is a 45 point, not physical, meh defensively forward. He is not worth a solid prospect and a 1st. Kahun is basically doing what Zucker does.

I agree that's an overpay for Zucker, but his scoring chances numbers relative to his teammates is very high. Everyone sees a boost in chances for% when playing with him. He is a strong play controlling winger with a great impact at 5v5. He isn't on the top of my list but definitely would be a great addition.

A boost in chances and $2.50 will get you a cup of coffee. When you use these advanced stats someone is always going to look good and someone is always going to look bad. Everything will be a bell curve. That doesn't mean that the bad are actually bad, nor does it mean that the good are actually good. It just means that when comparing this closed group, this one stats better than that one.

You can drive possession until the cows come home, but if you don't capitalize does it matter?

1. Yes, relative stats show how effective one is and when you control 55% of scoring chances you are pretty damn good.

2. Only Crosby and Guentzel have more goals at 5v5 than Zucker in the past 3 seasons, so how is he not capitalizing?

"You can drive posession til the cows come home but if you don't capitalize does it matter?"

I get what you mean but it's also pretty difficult to capitalize when you don't drive posession. Zuckers point totals are also exclusively on a wild team that never really has go to goal scorers. The pens have Crosby, Malkin, Guentzel and Rust, plus some. Almost any player would produce more in that top 6 lineup. And Zuckers speed is something that would add to that potency. When he is on his game he actually does throw some pretty good hits on the forecheck for a guy his size. I mean he actually blasted Seabrook off his skates which is pretty impressive given the size difference. All in all I think he would fit in pretty well with the Pens organization.
