Tage is going to be fine . I have no love for Scandella . Both the pending UFA's do not fit out age group and I am willing to bet Buffalo is on their no movement list. As far as Risto goes if you cannot get a top 6 forward for him better to keep him and let Ralph work with him and get his value up

Let's be clear here, this trade makes Buffalo a lot better next year:
Brodie, TJ > Ristolainen, Rasmus
Frolík, Michael >= Scandella, Marco ($1,000,000 retained) more or less the same at this point
Jankowski, Mark > Thompson, Tage Unless Thompson's off season work out program bears fruit.
I would like to get Brodie for Ristolainen, but I do not know if TJ would sign with Buffalo so this would be a one year upgrade.
Frolik for Scandella, I would do that every chance I get.
Jankowski would be perfect at back up to Mittelstadt or #3C.
all in all, in the short run (only one year) Buffalo is better, after that, I think I would rather play with the devil I know than the devil I do not.
