I wouldn't mind bringing back Weise at all for that price, especially now that Shaw is gone. I just have a gut feeling Soupy is going to sign with the Hawks for fairly decent discount like that.

Campbell for 1.75 million not likely. The Stars will be going after Campbell too, and we all know the Stars business model is to scoop up any former Blackhawk that the Hawks can't squeeze under the cap. (Sharp, Oduya, Belfour, Niemi, Manson, Burish). I like the idea of keeping Weise. Also if you get some AHL depth out of there then there's more cap space to put a better offer together for Campbell.

Belfour, Manson, and Burish? LOL first of all the cap wasn't a thing when Balfour and Manson played. Also, Burish is less than $1 million and isn't even in the league any more. Niemi came from the Sharks because he wasn't living up to his contract and the Sharks got Jones. At the end of the day, I think Campbell will be $2-$2.5 million realistically. It'd be perfectly easy to go with 22 players, send down Motte, pay Campbell $2.25 and Weise $1.5-$1.75 in which case you move Panik to 3LW (or rotate him and Weise between 1LW and 3LW) and move Lundberg to 4RW.

Leave Weise and Campbell alone. Weise was firmly in Q's doghouse, and Campbell is unnecessary. The Hawks need top six forwards, not more third pairing-caliber NHL defensemen.
