Boston says no. If you were realistically trying to trade for McAvoy, it would start with K’Andre Miller, Pavel Buchnievich (if a winger is on their needs list), and a 1st. An offer like that would get them talking. McAvoy would eventually be worth that and maybe more 100%. I personally wouldn’t do it with K’Andre Miller, and I bet they wouldn’t do it without him so...
But in all realness, no one is trading for McAvoy anytime soon because Boston has no intentions of doing so

A Rangers first round pick is likely top 15. Buchnievich is very skilled, and has only scratched his surface. With the Boston forward group he could be a 70 point player. And K’Andre Miller could potentially be an elite defenseman as experts have compared him to Seth Jones. This offer could do more than start a conversation.
I’m very high on McAvoy and I think he still has room to grow into a franchise defenseman, and will do so. But I think this is a considerable offer.

Mcavoy is the bruins best player. They aren’t trading him for futures and a middle six forward.

First of all, I’m not saying that they trade him for this package; I think that this could get the Bruins talking (and maybe even intrigue them) in a hypothetical situation where they are looking to trade McAvoy.
Buchnievich had 43 points as his career high under AV, when he was being bounced around the lineup. He didn’t have one particular spot on the roster to be comfortable with. Now, under his first season with Coach Quinn who is giving him the opportunity he deserves to succeed, he was on pace for nearly 50 points. And, he was heating up towards the end so his rate could have been higher than it was season-long and go above 50 points. That’s why I say he was only scratching the surface of his potential. Of course, there is a chance that I’m wrong and this was his best hockey. But as someone who has watched him play for a couple years, I think he has better years ahead of him, and in an extremely talented forward group such as the Bruins’, he could be a 70 point guy.
