Lat season the 7th defensemen played 47 games. I would split games among Jensen, Russo and Marchenko so that they each play around 50 games. For extra defensemen due to injuries I would recall Oullet and sproul. 30 games were played by defensemen 8-9. I would like to see Ouellet and Sproul share similar number of games to see which players have a future here. If they can split 30 games that wouldn't be much to judge them on but will give us an idea which of the 5 defensemen mentioned are more NHL-ready. All 5 defensemen were highly coveted before their pro careers, so I would love to see the rest of them get their fair chance.

Forwards 13-18 played 78 combined games last season. Since Jurco, pulkinnen and athanasiou are already on the starting roster, I'd split games among these 3 players and Glendening and Mantha so that each of them would play 60 games or so this year. 29 games were played by forwards 15-18 due to injuries. Would love to see these types of games played shared by Holmstrom, Svechnikov, Frk. I also wanted players like jurco and pulkinnen to play with good passers and playmakers since they have great scoring potential. Feel sorry for Jurco since he really never got a good chance to breakout the last 2 seasons due to linemates. Put Ovechkin with miller/glendening/Andersson and see how much his stats go down.
