Sell high on players NYR will not need going forward, and replace them with cheaper veterans to help develop the youth in the interim.

I used what I think is a conservative estimate for Kreider, though he may yield a different return. Strome and Namestnikov I think are pretty fair guesses.

Please disregard the Brouwer signing at the top; I think Maroon would be a good fit for that third line, but I doubt he signs with NYR. Brouwer would be a possible option as well for the fourth line, in case NYR want Lemieux in a top 9 role (but I think Lemieux is better off on the 4th line).

Lastly, I know Pominville in the top 6 sounds strange, but I think he would a great add for the young guys to learn the game from, similar to what Marleau did for the Leafs, but at only a fraction of the cost.
