While I think there is a fit for Shattenkirk in Anaheim, that is not nearly enough compensation for them to consider it. Even at 50%.

I've always been confused about the general notion about Shattenkirk. His production has obviously declined over the years but he's still a serviceable top 4 D, no? At something like $3.5 mil I'd be all over that if I were another team. And for a 6th round pick with additional 7ths coming my way, I don't see why it's not a steal.

The thought around the league is that the knee injury really compromised him. While I still say Shattenkirk at 50% still has great value, teams are obviously gun shy over acquiring him. It probably doesn't have to be anything crazy, but you would probably need a mid round pick attached to sweeten the deal.
