Well judging by Benning's history i think it's quite possible. Look at what he just gave up for JT Miller and his interest in Myers, who reportedly wants something in the range of 6 by $6.... so yea

Miller thinking “Good player will make us better now, who cares about future”
Myers thinking “Improve our team now, who cares about cap”
Zaitsev for Stetcher thinking “Makes us worse right now and in the future and makes us have less space to go get Myers”.... three stupid lines of thought.... but we all know one is 10 times as stupid and illogical
