I'm a fan of Hayes and I knew he would get overpaid, so w.e. Just saw that Puljujarvi wants out of Edmonton and I think this would be a great pickup for Philly. He needs out of that trash organization and his value now is very low. Hagg + pick for him should be enough. Especially since EDM doesn't have much negotiating power. Low risk high reward

I agree - over $7M a year for a second line/PK centreman is extravagant. As for your defencemen...I would rather have Hagg stay as the 3rd pairing and ship out Ghost.

If the trade is Ghost for Puljujarvi, EDM better throw in a first rounder at the very least.

Hayes' contract also has an NMC through the first three years of his contract, making him automatically protected in the expansion draft. So not only is he overpaid, but you're not gonna be able to expose him and have Seattle take him if he doesn't live up to his contract...
