6+ years I agree, perhaps even 5. I figured I would out in for 3 on a bridge deal so the Leafs win, and make the amount higher than Kuch's so Marner's camp wins.
Plus maybe line up a few endorsements to offset.

He gets a 2C maybe 3C in Kadri, a replacement RHD with a fresh start on a defensively capable team so he can return to his Rookie form in Zaitsev (not to mention younger and a better contract then Subban), one of the faster Wingers in the league who is only 22 in Kappenan. Oh and a 1st that you forgot to mention.

All of that for Subban with only 2M retained and Sissons (which almost offsets the retention). Do further explain why the Press wouldn't pull the trigger on this?
