Description
Canucks move down two spots in the draft, adding 7th and 20th overall picks, gaining two much needed high end prospects. They then re-sign Hamhuis for one year to avoid having to use an expansion protection spot on him.

The Coyotes have a shot at Tkachuk with the 5th overall (or they could send a later pick the Oilers way to make sure of it) and they acquire Edler to man their 2nd pairing LHD spot behind OEL. The two of them could play together on the top PP unit.

    The trade looks pretty even to me, but Thachuk will likely go to EDM and I don't think they'll move off him for a late round pick. EDM moves back to 6 or 8 for an extra 2nd is more likely IMO. Either CGY or BUF would be moving for Thachuk.
