No. Would rather keep Marchand. That is a severe overpayment for Subban, who carries a less than stellar cap hit. I think you need to start dreaming about other players.

Marchand will have 7 million cap hit next year so I figured it was the best option. Love Marchand, but can't make a trade for Elite D for ponies. I agree PK's cap hit is high and can find better D options for far less. It's more the escalated rivalry that would result from the trade would be amazing.

I don't find watching Marchand skate circles around our defense putting up 2/3 points would be amazing. Marchand needs to replicate what he did last season to get a contract worth that much. I think he'll come in at 6.5 million. He's played with Bergeron long enough to know he shouldn't make more than him.

It's not just Marchand though. Adding Lauzon, a 1st (14 or 29, doesn't matter), AND a 2nd is just overkill.
