All of these trades are bad so im going to limit my opinion to the Sabres trade. They have about 30 mill in cap space this offseason, do you really think theyre worried about an extra mill to sign Skinner. Bogo is an important part of their D, when he is healthy they play great. They trade makes 0 sense for them. Both those draft picks are getting max contracts too

Why dont they just send him to the Sharks for a 4th and 5th themselves, as he does a few trades later, instead of having Detroit be the middle man.

The fact that he listed it as cap savings still has me boggled.

I like the idea of the Red Wings being the middle man and using cap space to retain salary in return for assets, but this is some galaxy brain stuff here
