I'd love getting rid of Lucic but he has a full NMC until 2021, so you'd have to ask him to wave (which he might to go home). Also not sure VGK parts with Reilly Smith he is on a great contract for another 3 years. Also Brett Connolly shouldnt get any more than 4m (this is his first productive season)

I'm basing the $5M for Connolly because that's what it's going to take him to leave Washington. Caps would like to bring him back, but he's probably going to sign somewhere for $4.25+. Edmonton would likely need to overpay somewhat for Connolly.

Yes but I'm not sure Connolly is a guy I'd be comfortable overpaying for I guess. I think you could get someone ALOT better for 5M.

It's certainly a risk, but Connolly also had 22 goals without any significant time on the PP. He averaged 13:20 in TOI last season, and still scored 22 goals. I think with an increased role, he could pot 25-30. He's a good goal scorer. He's also only 26, so I don't think he's really hit his ceiling yet. He's a late bloomer.
