The Philly trade's a bit messy, but Laughton is a good player and with a 1st, it's worth eating that $$$. Kings should suck next year too, so eating McDonald's contract ain't no thing (he's not waiver exempt so I'd just send him to the minors, saves'em like $1mm). Buying out Dion is the priority. With OTT eating 25%, next year is the concern, so LA will get hit with about $4mm. This year and years 3-4 of the buyout are manageable. As for Philly, they get a good Vet DMan at a discount, and Hart's mentor at a discount. As for Carter for Faulk - JF is an upgrade from AM and his contract comes off the books at year's end. JC would prolly do well in Carolina (fill JW's spot).
