I would hate to give up Lehkonen, but I might be convinced by this trade. Ideally, Chicago would have its eyes on another youngster, but as the Habs are deep in wingers, I could see making this trade. Mete and Kulak are decent LDs for the moment and Beaudin won't be ready next season. Romanov is likely two years away. So if you're trading Lehkonen, the question is whether you'd want immediate help at LD.

But, on the surface anyway, Beaudin would be a great acquisition for the Habs.

No way they give up Beaudin for Lekho .. MtL needs to add a lot i guess , positional value of a Lhd who can move the puck well .

Look at Juulsen if you want a read on the potential of a late-first-round D. Beaudin was the 11th D taken in that draft and his points and GPs played both dropped this year over last. That's hardly a ringing endorsement for a sure bet.

He can speak le francaise also , which is a big factor ! He would cost more i think .. but who knows ?

So lekho and Fleury for Beaudin? Or Lekho and a 3rd?

No, absolutely not!!! Lehkonen for Beaudin is marginally even, but normally it would be Chicago making giving the sweetener. Lehkonen is an NHLer on 31 of 31 teams. Beaudin is a good prospect. He MIGHT ... MIGHT make the NHL. He has many hurdles to cross before he gets there and he's hardly a stud. He's not even the best D prospect on the Blackhawks. When evaluating draft picks, have a look at the back third of the first rounds on any NHL draft and you'll see that 5 years out, the success rate (100+ games in the NHL) for those picks is under 70 per cent. This is not a slight on Beaudin, but a young NHLer with experience and some upside is still far more valuable than a prospect. That's just reality.

i luv Leknonen game which is underrated due to underscoring but a very effective player .
