They have no need for Byram, especially if theyre picking top 3.

Duchene is the perfect player for Buffalo. His track record of being a part of great teams is so Buffalo lol

They have Dahlin, McCabe, Pilut, and Samuelsson, not to mention the depth players on the left side and are extremely desperate for forwards, that would be a waste

but its no like this team has a lot of high end talent on their blueline the only defenseman under contract right now on the left side that have a shot a being full time NHL players are Pilut isf he shows more at this level which so far he hasn't Will Borgen who I think has a chance in 2 years to make the team. Other than that the guys currently in the minors aren't probably going to make an impact. Which is why I think they need a player like Byram who is projected to be a high end talent.

They have one forward line. And they may lose their best goal scorer in a decade leaving them with 2 decent forwards. Meanwhile they have 6 solid D men. They need to address their needs
