Why would the rangers give up anything to get Fox? They can get him for free when he becomes an UFA at the end of next year.

Basically the idea is that Krieder will be traded. Trading to Carolina allows to capture a 1st, 3rd, and fox's rights. This would allow Fox to play this next season, instead of wasting another year in college, where he has proven to be above the level of competition. I added Namestikov for a 2nd and a 6th, to create cap space along with a Staal buyout, so we could sign Panarin and Skinner long term. I believe this would set up the Rangers for long term success, and allow them to potentially become a playoff team next season.
