What have we learned with this exercise?

1) Both their current defense and blueline prospects would be better overall. Adding back Garrison and subtracting Sbisa alone is huge.

2) They'd have more picks for upcoming drafts (factoring in picks added and traded away);
+2016 2nd, 4th, 5th
+2017 5th, 6th

3) Other than McCann they'd still have all of their blue chip youngsters and prospects like Horvat, Virtanen, Boeser and Demko. They wouldn't have drafted Brisbois, but they'd have Forsling, McKeown, and Rasmus Andersson in the pipeline instead.

4) They'd have more cap space for this upcoming free agency, even with Kesler and Bieksa's contracts on the team. If both players had just been allowed to walk when their previous contracts expired the Canucks would've been better off, allowing for 24.6 million in current cap space to fill 6 forward spaces.
