Description

I think there's a good chance Ladd will return before the playoffs. This has 2 trades to upgrade the defence. Folin is a depth add and could be a good injury replacement at a cheap price. Edler could potentially be re-signed and really helps the defence.

The Isles didn't play well their cards last year. They couyld have traded Tavares to Toronto or Nashville and get at least 2 first round picks that they could use this year to get good rentals and drive for the cup.

Think there are a lot of better fits that could be picked up cheap as well. On another note elder has said he will not waive his nmc and wants to re sign in Vancouver.

Islanders don’t need LHD and that is an overpay for Edler as a UFA even if they did.
If the Flyers waived Folin the Islanders wouldn’t claim him.
Isles may trade their 1st but it will be for a game changing forward.
