Hayes will likely cost a guaranteed first rounder, a prospect, and a conditional pick if he re-signs with the team that trades for him. Adding Hudon, McCarron and two fourth rounders is not very appealing. Olofsson is a good add; I think a first, Olofsson and a condition second or third rounder upon re-sign would be a very intriguing offer, but I doubt MTL would be willing to part with those assets.

Don't think that Andreas Athanasiou will get traded just bcz he still have a good contract (Another year + friendly contract). Gustav Nyquist might be good for the Habs if they deside to Keep Domi as a Center this season

you look at who got 1st round picks as rentals over the last few years stastny, hanzal, kane, nash, vermette. Hayes has more points per game than all of them and better in game stats when they got traded without a doubt hayes is getting a 1st a good prospect and some more.

then one of the many other teams jump up and offer what nyr want and nyr debate on which team will do worse and what prospects they are getting returned.
