The Penguins would pass on that trade. They would have to be completely oblivious to their organizational needs to trade a first round pick for a winger.

They won't even think about that until their season is over. It's all about assembling the best roster possible to win the cup this season. Right now, they need to improve defensively. Adding Danault would improve their team, but not nearly enough to sustain success while giving up three goals per game.

New to the thread, so apologies if this was already mentioned. Just want to make sure you're aware that Danault is a center, not a winger. And Danault would absolutely help the Pens in their own zone, and on face-offs, and on the PK. I think you're seriously undervaluing Danault. BUT, you're right, he's not worth a first. Maybe two 2nds, but I can't see a team sending a 1st to MTL for him.

The bigger question is why would anyone want to play in Ottawa as long as they have the owner they have. Move down the 417 to the most storied franchise in league history and still be close to home.

Danault is a Center but also wouldn't cost a 1st round pick.

I said that Danault is not worth a 1st round pick but stranger things have happened come TDL day.

My mistake, hockey-reference has him listed as a left wing for whatever reason. That's besides the point though. The Penguins don't really need another forward. At least not at that price.

hockey-reference! Those misleading sons-a-guns. Tell you what; the Habs will take the Pens 1st and give you Nicolas Deslauriers but that's the best we can do; sign here ___________________ Thank you and good day.
