It's an interesting offer but I doubt the Leafs would make it.

Simmonds would be a great depth RW add but he's a UFA at the end of the year and there's no way the Leafs can keep him.

As for Hagg, again, an interesting add but I think Sanheim has to be part of the deal if they would send him to Philly

The kid is a great talent but there's no way I think he is worth $8 million long term at this stage in his career. I wonder if he would be putting up 60ish points on a line without Matthews Dubas has the weak hand here with Nylander holding out for this long and will be forced into signing him for what he demands (can't see that with Matthews and Marner needing new deals at year's end) or accepting a deal that is below value for him.

Toronto is actually talking with Philly? Sanheim would make sense since Dubas is an analytics guy but I didn't think they were actually talking. I just posted this for the description

I don't think they're talking either, but I have heard rumors of them looking at Sanheim. But, since they need to do something with Nylander in the next few weeks or he won't be able to play this year, and since the leafs have a chance at the cup this year and would be looking to add anything they can, especially defense, it wouldn't surprise me much at all.
