What would Columbus be willing to pay???

Description
Jarmo Kekäläinen has to be asking himself this question. You know he wants to pull off a move like Vancouver did with the Sedins. Laine is a the prize but what is the cost?

I know Columbus fans are going to poop when they see this but Laine is a far better player than anything they have now. Even with this trade, Saad at 6M/yr vs Laine at 925K basically means the difference of adding a Ladd,/Boedker/Eriksson. Murray is talented young Dman but I still think the Jets lose this trade. Adding a prospect like Rychel is redundant for the Jets with Ehlers, Connor, Perreault, Stafford, Lowry, Lemieux, Dano, Petan all LW capable.

There may not be a fit for Jarmo.

If I'm Columbus it's a easy no. They'll take Puljujärvi and be happy with it. Saad and Murray is a steep price, and those guys are established already.

Was thinking the same hypothetical yesterday.....what could Columbus offer that would at least make us pause and think. It's tough to find a trade that works between our rosters but I think Ryan Murray is a piece that would have to come back. He's been underwhelming so far but he is a LD who is young with upside and pedigree. You'd have to think the Jets would be intrigued by Columbus 2017 1st round pick (if unprotected).....no guarantee that Columbus makes the playoffs next year (likely Jets miss again as well) and another lottery ball in the Nolan Patrick sweepstakes would be interesting.

End of the day we don't trade the pick....in the hard cap era young studs on ELC are just way to valuable and no one wants to the be the GM that traded the next 40+ goal scorer for a bunch of "nice" pieces.

Created another roster as well....check it out.

Funny how both sides don't like the trade. As a jets fan, I'd rather have Laine than Saad and Murray. You could pick up Yandle for the difference in contracts. (Not that I would make that recommendation). Jets have the pieces. Let them play.
