Soderberg is a centreman and I'd say MTL needs him having plekanec as their top centreman

Montreal could be a possible destination for Soderberg. With their upcoming prospects as well, they could lean on him. Interesting thought!

MTL would need some added value to take on him and that contract. He may be a center but he isn't that much better then any option they currently have

Throw in a prospect or a late pick. Just want him out of here. Watched 30 games last season and the guy can't skate. Somehow he racked up 50 points with the Bruins.

He did real well on the third line with comeau and neito, so well that they played together thr whole year... and he was real good on the PK

Soderberg's best years were under Claude Julien when both were in Boston. Habs have cap space to burn, much like the Avs, so its not really anything for either side. Could happen. Or, the Avs just keep him until the young guys are good and ready since even though slightly overpaid, they have the room.

Well good luck man, it worked out with galenchyuk though right? Or maybe just admit that the habs have a glaring hole down the middle

they have a hole right now, in a couple years they should have very good center depth.
all they have done for 2 seasons is draft centers and dmen

But that doesn't help them this coming season, or probably even next season unless one of those prospects is already better than Danault or Plekanec (or Drouin if you count a wing to centre conversion that hasn't worked too well so far).

Either way. MTL needs to be bad and taking on Soderbergs contract and playing him probably isn't what they want to do. Plus knowing MB, he would resign him to a 4 year x $4.7 for scoring 10+ goals.
I would rather the HABs just be as bad as possible. Unless the Aves are sending a pick or an NHL player to compensate MTL for helping them out.

That makes no sense we are litterally giving you a centre for free, Mtl isnt competing this year, why would we need to compensate you for taking a centre who has value especially since we have like 13 mill in cap space?? We'll just keep him for find someone else who could use him.
On what planet would a team give up a 1st and a player for no return??? I swear leafs and habs fans are super unrealistic when it comes to their teams

Also soderberg got basically the same points as drouin last year

haha who said a first? What kind of person do you think I am? sure MTL will take him. I cant believe we are even talking about Soderberg. he isn't an improvement on any of MTLs Centers other then he is a NHL center, which MTL needs.

and cut Drouin some slack. He had 10 more points then him on a way worse team, playing against other teams 1st and 2nd pairings.
I saw Colarado last season when they came to Edmonton, Soderberg was playing against Benning/Russell and our 3rd line guys.

You saw Soderberg in a single game? Hard to judge on one game. He plays most of the time as a shutdown centre against top lines and a lot of time on the PK and still managed to put up the same amount of goals as Drouin with line mates who can't be regarded as being as high level as Drouin's. Drouin started almost 60% in the offensive zone last season and Soderberg? Almost 70% in the defensive zone, and 2.5 minutes of PK time per game. Drouin averaged 6 secs of PK time per game and 3 mins 16 secs on the PP on avg per game. I'm not for one moment saying Drouin doesn't have a higher ceiling (or should have if he ever breaks out properly) but it's comparing apples and pears at the very least.

'he (Soderberg) isn't an improvement on any of MTLs Centers other then he is a NHL center, which MTL needs.'

Contradiction in terms. So you're saying Soderberg is an improvement on the other centres because he's an NHL centre? Therefore you are classing all of MTL's centres as sub-NHL standard, and in that case MTL would be stupid to turn down a deal for him.

haha I honestly could care less about Soderberg. Send him over. He seems to be a better and younger version of Plekanec.
what is his track suit size, Ill get one shipped over for him to wear.
