Very interesting trade, I sort do not think Winnipeg would want to make this trade considering that they have Myers and Byfuglien as RHD who can score. I would think a LHD to balance their defense would be a greater need. Cheveldayoff may want to erase his Kulikov mistake and dump his salary in the process. I am just spitballin. and streaming my thoughts.
I would really like to have Trouba, I wonder if there are other players on the Buffalo roster that would work, but Winnipeg is so strong I just do not see a trade here.

don't know if the rebuilding sabres would want the shorter term of trouba. trouba is better than risto so probably the cup ready jets don't do the deal either

I hear you. Honestly thought Risto was a LD. I think Winnipeg wants cost certainty and obviously Trouba isn't going to give them that. Chevy is risk adverse and is likely to let Trouba play his best this year to get the Jets into another playoff run. If he leaves after the season they may get a good piece for him.

Buffalo has quite a few players that I think would suit the Jets, but you are right, the Jets don't have any pressing needs.
