Tampa does not necessarily need any more forward at this point, certainly not experienced forwards. This proposal is a massive overpayment for Simmonds. I'd say Cal Foote for Simmonds alone would be a bad deal for Tampa, especially since both Coburn and Girardi are UFAs after this season. Foote could be the future young defensive star in Tampa, there is no sense in moving him for another forward.

No chance the Lightning trade Cal Foote in a deal for a rental in Wayne Simmonds. Not to mention the unrealistic nature of shipping a bunch of bad contracts over.
