Why on Earth would Chicago trade a 22 year old with 1C potential for an overpaid middle 6 F?

It's really not bias.... Schmaltz put up more points than Killorn on a worse team at a younger age with less games played. It's really common sense. Schmaltz is 6 years younger. Chicago doesn't pick up the phone.

Schmaltz also played with Kane so. Killorn played on the third line centred by Cirelli. He’s under contract 5 more years and with that amount retained it’s a steal. With a pick added. I’m neither a bolts or hawks fans and maybe it’s time to step back for a second and look at something called value

That's not value. Killorn is slower than Schmaltz, not the playmaker Schmaltz is, and not the hockey mind Schmaltz is. Hawks listen to the voicemail and block NYR's number.

Agreed, there really isn't any reason for Chicago to entertain that deal, where is the logic behind it? I am not saying Killorn isn't a decent player, I like the toughness in his game. But to trade off a talented, young, up and coming center...again, why would they do this for a middle six 29 year old winger??

For the Rangers trade, pull Fast and Killorn out. Fast is a bargain and plays his heart out, and Killorn (while again I like his toughness) is just going to take minutes away from the kids, and I am not paying 4m + 5m for he and Callahan to populate the 4th line.
